i know that you would need to buy the service, and i was wondering about the price range for it all. about how much would it be for, lets say, a 1 year subsctiption to a network, and the phone. how much would it be? plzz help!

well, let me reword this:
how much is the phone itself, and how much is an average plan service, without any internet, etc. things on it?

It looks like Verizon's lowest plan is $40 (+taxes) for 450 mins. If ou go over your mins it costs $.45 a min (can be costly).
$40 x 12 = $480 + taxes per year
Then you choose either a 1 or 2 year contract to get a free or discounted phone.
The MOTOKRZR is $20 if you sign for two years.
