I my post which received 24 stars at least before deletion was removed under these grounds. So I shall put what I suspect about what is going on into here, as it appears the YA policy is to delete the message so as not to make waves.
Is Posting a link Yahoos own Suggestion Board now a violation of CG?
Message to Customer Care follows:
Please confirm.
In any case, the seriousness of the issue being raised cannot be overstated.
When trolls create proxy accounts to post content which breaches community guidelines in order to use higher level accounts to report those violations, this effectively creates Top Reporters from nothing, who then run amok through the forums randomly targeting people they do not like.
Point gaming for reporters. A far more serious problem than people awarding themselves best answers. Only yahoo know who these people are, and of course those hideously abusing the system while customer care instead target a suggestion in a forum that is a victim to this ins

victim to this instead of acting to fix the problem.
Very well. This knowledge is now public domain.

Yahoo defines the terms of breach as "Questions like “Wanna chat?” and “Who wants to grab coffee?” are solicitations. There are ways in Answers to connect personally to others, so solicitations do not belong in questions and answers. Commercial solicitations are usually considered spam, so please refer to the “Can I post my website, email, or personal information in my answers?” FAQ for more details."
so I do not understand how linking to their own suggestion board makes one guilty of thee above.

Twilight,
As I mentioned before the Justice Leage is in their, let's clean up the "poop" phase. Go check it out in the forum for yourself. They are targeting violations hard this week. To turn up the heat. So the word gets out, that even the minor offenses are reportable.
In my opinion there is wiggle room in the guidelines that some people are obviously taking too harshly. Your previous question could be seen as a solicitation. You were requesting members of the community to perform an action for you. To rate your suggestion on the forum.
Please be careful. I want you to stay around. I value your presence here. Only valid violations are reportable and can be made to stick. I've received a violation before. I almost received another the other day for ranting. I deleted my question before it could be reported.
Please go to the violations appeal in the forum. I think that you should be allowed to refer to the suggestion board. I will support you.
Take care.

They deleted all of our posts from last night? No wonder I couldn't find it today. I wanted to see how many other people voted for your suggestion! This is outrageous- but I can't say I'm overly surprised. I tried to tell you...they just don't seem to care! And I can only guess that all of our complaints on that board probably made them look bad, and that's why they deleted all of them. *sigh* Looks like nothing's gonna change any time soon.
EDIT: Did all the posts/votes on the board get deleted too? Or just your question/link? If the board messages got deleted as well, I'd have to wonder if Y/A did it.

We'll win in the end. I've starred this question. If I were you, I'd repost that link in your additional details, or at least provide keywords so someone could search for it on the suggestion board. Those trolls can keep reporting us all they like, but the very fact that almost EVERYONE is against them means that their efforts will ultimately be futile.

Wow...no links? I spend a bit of time in zoology, biology, and other areas that have students (usually high school).
They are often begging for links so they can finish their last minute homework assignments.
Going to put a serrious crimp in everyones style if you cannot post links!

I have always wondered why yahoo allows many accounts in here to be created under the same IP address.I realise there may be other users in the same household using the same computer, but they also allow not only same IP address but same user name ,as well ,to have multiple accounts in here. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the forces of competition,IE yahoo saying ''proudly'' they have over 20 million users and the rest of it.I am not surprised at all as to why GOOGLE is such better search engine and company ,in general !!!

Some people think posting links is a form of spamming, and reportniks like to capitalize on this.

this forum is going steadily downhill. eventually all you'll have is a bunch of trolls telling each other to "pull my finger". yahoo is running away all the smart contributers.

I am sorry it happend, Twilight - but not at all surprised. "Unavailable" put my thoughts into words. It's the tyranny of the masses; the ignorant masses who are determined to censor information. It's a manifestation of the 'backlash' that you see.

You have angered the gods. Please present a bowl of lukewarm tapioca at the mouth of their cave. They are blind, so they will think it is your brain.
Btw, glad I got into Contacts before you tightened up.
Have a great night!
