Actually, the real origins of blitzkrieg can be traced back to Genghis khan who used this lighting attack by horse to create and expand his empire. However, the German version was defined and promoted by Heinz Guderian who wrote a book about it in his book Panzer Leader.

The English. They were the first to develop the "lightening strike" after world war one. The concept was not used until the second world war when Germany used this "lightening strike" concept and called it the "Blitzkrieg".
So when you get right down to it ...the English were responsible for the Blitzkriegs. The Germans were the first to utilize it.
It is the same as the concentration camps. The Brits first used it during the Boar war. But the Nazis of Germany refined it to the state of the art we found after the second world war.

Achtung Panzer with a alot of credit to Liddel Hart from Britain. Rommel was the great implementer of Guderian's use of massed armour at the point of attack...bypassing pockets of resistance.
