The first blockbuster deal at the winter meetings and a deal that is bringing shockwaves to alot of baseball fans.I'm totally blown away.Could the Santana deal get bigger than this?

I hated to see Andrew go also--a future superstar for sure! Maybin will have his day in the sun also. Florida is getting ALOT of talent in return for two players.

Look at the deals he continues to make.. Carlos Guillen for Ramon Santiago.. Placido Polanco for Ugi Urbina.. Gary Sheffield for Humberto Sanchez.. Don't forget Jacque Jones for a guy not even with the team he was traded to three weeks ago, Omar Infante..Went after Magglio Ordonez when no one really came a calling..

The biggest question I see for the Tiger's line up is who the heck bats ninth? Granderson?, Jones?, Pudge? Renteria?

Willis hasn't been the dominate pitcher he once was in about 2 years so I'm not sure what all the hype is about him. The Marlins had a good offense last year (not great!) and he stunk up the joint!

Cabrera on the other hand is very high potential! He has put on a lot of weight and ruined his defensive (or so I hear!)

Andrew Miller is a rookie pitcher who started hot then fell apart as the hitters adjusted to him!

Time will tell just like every other trade. Clearly Marlins baseball is a short term loser! And that organization is an abomination to the sport! Although I'd like to thank them for Lowell and Beckett!

Trading away a stud 3b and pitcher again Florida? This looks good for Tigers' fans I guess!

I think Dombrowski pulled off a beauty. While the rest of the baseball world was waiting to see what "Hank the Yank" was going to do, and of course the never ending chess match between the Yankees and the Red Sox, ole' Dave slipped under the radar and may every well have stolen the pennant back from the Red Sox.

If the Yankees end up killing the deal with Santana you can forget about a Parade down Broadway next November.

I can't see any other deal being more significant than this one. Detroit immediately becomes a big favorite to win it all in 2008. There is also a big possibility that another trade will occur for the Tigers as where would Brandon Inge fit in? I think that with the scarcity of 3B, he will become a good trading chip and bring even more to Detroit. Watch out for Florida in a couple years though, they got a lot of young talent in return.

Getting Cabrera is awesome for the Tigers, but I think people overvalue Willis. Since his great 2005 season, his ERA and WHIP have steadily risen, while his strikeouts have dipped. This is the same pattern that we saw with Barry Zito, and everyone saw how that worked out for the Giants last season.

Cabrera will help that team for years, but they gave up a lot. Maybin should be a star, and Miller will be a front-of-the-rotation guy. It's a good trade for both teams, but certainly not a steal for the Tigers.

Man Detroit is going to be awesome now, they got a star SP and a star 3B in one deal. All they had to give up was 6 prospects so I think Detroit won on this trade. Florida is going to be worse, but they are building for the future so that deal did help them in a way. Detroit wants to win now so they better hope they get to the WS and win.

This a big deal, but to say the bigger than the santana deal if it goes down (either the red sox or yankees) is hard to say because of what santana does to both those teams buy making them the first choice to win it all

shop Dombrowski. even with each and every thing, he's the guy for firing Randy Smith (substantial reason the Tigers sucked for as long as they did). DD is a clever baseball guy, and because he's been our GM The Tigers have certainly been (a minimum of) aggressive. although, HE ought to hearth LEYLAND till now THE SEASON IS OVER!!! HE ought to! HE HAS TOO! otherwise he seems silly, and that on my own could desire to be the element that expenditures him his job. JIM LEYLAND ought to bypass! NOW!!!! at present!!!! hearth JIM LEYLAND NOW!!!!!!!!! I dont think of i can myself from now on clearer.

I do have to say that this is the # 1 trade so far. Good looking trade. Now, if it doesn't work out for some reason, remember today. It looked good, so no saying next year, "Why did that idiot Dombrowski trade for Dontrelle 'I can't win' Willis?" !!!!!

yes, with this trade, the Tigers now have a lineup of Yankee proportion. they have the best center fielder in the game,so they didn't need Maybin.

But it does hurt to see Andrew Miller go.
