What will happen to the American political system, with the current Exec. Powers passed by the President, if we have a major crisis will there be an election? I do not know, that is why I am asking! If it is soon to be illegal to speak out against our government with HR1955, What good is Lou Dobbs finally telling us the truth going to do or (cause)?

My biggest fear is that under the power seized by Bush as Commander and Chief of the military Bush will declare marshal law and refused to allow elections. He has shown time after time that he has no respect for this country's citizens opinions about the war. He is blatantly determined to follow his own agenda come what may. I just don't picture him quietly leaving the White House or the power to any successor without a fight.

Now I am a little biased, since I am a Barack Obama supporter, but I think he would do an amazing job at unifying this country. That is what his campaign is all about. Its a hard question to answer since nobody knows how exactly anyone would react to such an event. On the Republican side, I believe that Rudy Giuliani would be best. He has delt with this kind of crisis before and did a great job dealing with NYC. On the other hand, a country is greatly different than a city and it would be more difficult.

Lettie: If i were Canadian and owned one of the worlds largest copper mining firms and wanted to hike the price of my copper(keeping in mind all of my locations are unionized. including the ones in South America.) What could i do to increase my profit? If i were the president of the representing unions, wouldn't it be wise to buy a crapload of stock options in said companies while the prices are down? And also recommend to my other buddies in other unions to buy stock in them as well in case they suddenly went through the roof? But copper is only one example. Did you know it is estimated that over 15 billion dollars worth of identity theft occurred in the united states that went into Canada over the past two years? And people say We need not worry about Canada. Hmm. Imagine that.
Curio: Yes..........We are.
I believe it to be intentional as well. Think about what i wrote above. Really........... think about it.
Was there not a certain democratic president after Hoover who was looked at as a savior from the late 20's early 30's depression? many "social" programs were set up to "help" counter with what was occuring in the economy. "Social SECURITY" was also introduced as well. Now how do we fund all of this?Hmmm. We have the new "CREDIT" system in place, but to flood the economy with this(i.e. Fiat money or DEBT NOTES if you prefer, might set off huge bells and whistles. What's one to do? Hmm. Do you believe history has a tendancy of repeating itself? So............ Who and/or what country will be the new bad guy? And who will they attack this time? Hmmm......... Is it possible people have short attention spans along with short memories and a severe lack of interest in history? Let's hope not.
I always believed money was only meant as a neutral means of exchange. Not something used to control a population under the guise of "SECURITY". Or what we have all been witnessing......"THEFT". "WARS" have a tendency of starting under these pretenses. Does it not seem calculated though?

We're in a major crisis. The Canadian dollar is worth more than the American dollar for the first time in history. The drop in our dollar's value is critical. Thank you George Bush.

Great, whoever can speak out best about problems in government can now be charged with being capable of influencing the violent opposition of government, and declared a terrorist.
Great!
Reminds me of the Patriot act saying people who talk about the US Constitution too much can be monitored.
