Totally agree with you. Before 9pm you should be able to watch tv with your family without feeling uncomfortable.

My daughter is 9 and we have a very open home enviroment. She knows all about the birds and the bees, but she doesnt need to hear any of that. I dont remember tv being so racey when I was younger. We actually dont watch soaps at all anymore for those reasons. We usually play board games now after dinner. Its good qaulity time and it keeps her attention away from the tv. But I know exactly what you mean. Its nice to be able to sit down, as a family and watch some light hearted easy going programmes but they are now few and far between.

i agree . i used to watch it with my mum and nan when i was small, i remember it well - black and white - cant imagine albert tatlock ravishing ena sharples, elsie tanner was the raciest but nothing by todays standards. i have 13 and 11 yr old that watch the soaps but im not keen on them watching eastender s as its violent, eg when the pub was attacked, however all their friends watch. i also find hollyoaks which is aimed at teens supposedly a bit strong even for me at 6.30 in the evening

well its not a programme for 6 year olds is it really, Eastenders can be a bit violent ....stick to The Tweenys for your 6 year old....

i know you are not being funny but you have the choice not to watch it, it is an adult soap after all not meant for 6 year olds.. All soaps touch on abortion and racism and underage sex and drugs and sexuality, we all expect that... and then you went and spoilt yourself by swearing and saying a f-----g man..(who's not worth It ??) .That is no attitude to pass on to your daughter,,,dont take offence its just my opinion...Watch something meant for her age, together....and rip off all her clothes and ravish her surely would just go over a 6 year olds head..they wouldn't even understand it...would they...????dont be so angry....and you did ask for our views..did you not....

It really wasnt that gritty. They cut the scene so you dont know if roxy did with jase or not.

You should see the content on some cartoons like ED, Edd and Eddy. Now that should be watershed.

Its human nature, it's not *dirty* or anything - how much do you want to shelter your child from the world?? There was no nudity or anything obscene.
You are just teaching your child that intimacy between adults is wrong & bad & that could have a negative affect on his relationships in the future.
My 7 year old knows all about sex etc & although I am not going to sit him own infront of a porno(!) I am not going to hide him away from something as innocent as a passionate kiss - it's human nature & perfectly natural.

Why would you watch soaps with children that young? It's not the television's job to parent your children for you -- make sure you know what they're watching, or don't watch it at all.

Personally I don't think your 6 year old would have any idea what they were talking about.
So I think; rather than make an issue of it, ignore it and the child would probably never notice what was said.

If they do however ask, tell them it is silly grown up talk and brush over the subject.

I dont understand what your moaning about, whats on tv or your own stupidity.

you had to turn over, well done. thats a hard decision but you made it.

I had to ban my 4 year old watching last years balamory chrismas dvd as pc plum was going off to finger a suspect of steeling santa's gifts for the children. & miss hoolie made a smutty joke about santa coming once a year & she felt sorry for mrs santa. then miss hollie was dressed as a christmas pudding & spencer said she looked tasty & he would like to cover her in cream & lick it all off untill he got to the hot squidgy bit which he would poke to see if their was a treat inside......................(i presume he meant sixpence)

whilsts im 100 percent sure my 4 year old had no idea about the inuendo's. how do you explain it when it becomes a talking point around her friends, let alown explaining it to her friends parents as your dropping them off to school.
