Child Support is not the womans right it is the CHILDS and no woman should ever be allowed to deny the child the right to child support. Some women do not ask for child support because men often get vindictive and demand access out of spite instead out of genuine desire to parent the child. Some of these women realize years later that they have denied there childs right unjustly and remedy the situtation to as it should have been.

Yes and most women do. Sorry to tell you that.
ALWAYS DOCUMENT EVERYTHING and make every payment on time.
***I can not say this enough:***
DOCUMENT ~ DOCUMENT ~ DOCUMENT everything!!!!!
Pay consistantly, on time each month. DO NOT GIVE CASH.
Always pay by money order or check and keep copies of the receipts, money order stub, and cleared checks of EVERYTHING YOU HAVE PAID.
***If you pay directly to ex then get a file and keep organized records of every child support payment.***
***Keep receipts of everything you buy your children because EVERYTHING you buy can be applied to your child support arrears***if there is any. Never say it was a gift ~especially if there are arrears.
If there are arrears then the x can file to get income tax refund so don't file jointly with your new spouse unless the tax company you use documents it so the irs does not take your new spouses part of the refund. not sure about that but you will have to ask a cpa.
In some cases it it better to go through the child support enforcement office because it holds both sides accountable BUT if you ever get behind on a payment they will become the child support payee's enemy and no matter what your x is doing will not matter cause THEY WANT THE MONEY.
KEEP GOOD RECORDS on visits, children behaviors, phone calls, money, time spent and not spent together & etc.
The states look at child support and visitation as seperate so keep good records on both. You will thank me for this in years to come.

Look at this web site...print it off and glean from the information that can help you. It will show your rights. Don't be concerned with who it is for just the good information. I like it cause of it's lay out and simple to understand.

Some states have statutes of limitations pertaining to child support. So, a woman can change her mind at any time as long as she hasn't exceeded the legal limit in her state (or at absolutely ANY time if she lives in a state with no statute of limitations).
Women don't THINK they can get money from men- They KNOW they can. Do I think it's fair? HELL NO! Women in this country have the right to keep the baby or to choose not to; so, in my opinion, women should ultimately assume all responsibilities associated with the children they have.
By the way, you're still screwed even if you ''sign away'' your rights. Only the rights will be gone. The responsibilities will remain.
Umm, YES, a woman CAN receive back child support for the time up until she requested it (depending upon the particular state's statute of limitations plus going forward.
Research the child support laws of your state.

It could be due to the fact that it takes two to make a child. And if a man decides to no longer remain in the picture and the girl is left to raise the child alone he is just as much responsible to help with the expenses. And if he is on the birth certificate then he has no recourse but to pay. Not all woman change their mind about raising a child alone. Some women would rather stay with the father of the child. But circumstances do happen.

However, they can only request child support going forward. In other words, if a woman has a child and doesn't request child support from the court until the child is 5 years old, she can'tt get paid for those first 5 years, she can only receive support going forward from that date.

Unless you and her make a mutual decision that you are going to sign away your rights to the child and will not come back years later saying you changed YOUR mind, you are responsible for that child. If you didn't want a baby, you should have taken precautions. WRAP IT UP!
