I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT BUT A NAME CAN BE INTERCHANGABLE.

This is tricky.
Let's say that you only have one child. Then I think that Dalton is great and Spencer is okay.
But let's say you have two children, one boy and one girl. Then I think it is a bad idea to have *both* children sporting names that are so similar and don't necessary clue someone into gender. It could just as easily be a girl named Dalton and a boy named Spencer, right?
Generally, I think if you're going to name your daughter Hunter, Spencer or Jameson, then your son should be William, David or another classic, male name. And if you're using Dalton, Avery, Jordan for a boy, then your daughters' names should be Sara, Eliza, Gemma - or anything obviously feminine.
It's not just about the individual names - it's about how they'd sound when your family's names are all said together.

I like Spencer as a boy's name and I don't like Dalton at all.

Spencer is more of a boy's name but Dalton is cute! How about for a girl you try something like Lisa or Heather?

Why would you want to name a girl a name that is common boys name?

All of these names that could be for either sex, not know for one sex

spencer is a no for a girl, but alright for a boy. Dalton is good for a boy.

Spencer doesn't sound like a girl's name. Dalton sounds like a book store, but it's ok.

I knew a Dalton that was adorable. I like that a lot.
