The Z28 will be worth more (and cost more) as it's a real rare car.
The big block SS's are probably quicker.

Super sport was a model that came with a choice of different big block engines but was also 'super sport' styling..they used mainly 396 blocks rated at different levels of HP. The Z28, on the otherhand was a high performance small block, 302 cubic inches, with not much styling as compared to the super sport. The Z was lightweight and quick, the supersport engine was heavier but higher hp..which was faster depended of the SS engine and it would be close..more expensive would most likely be the Z28 since there was less of those...

As stated this question could be either the Z28 or the SS it depends on the engine as nearly all engines including the copo 427 were available for these cars still the Z28 would be worth more in restored form due to less models produced in fact the 427 option was listed at Barrett Jackson as 169 so optioned cars in 1969 this would make it not only one of the fastest cars in 1969 but also one of the rarest cars.

In 1969 you could have any Chevy with an SS pkg for around $189 from a Nova to a Caprice/Impala. It involved a different grill, dash, bucket seats, console and emblems. In 1969 you could order a Camaro SS with a 427 eng that would do 10.29 Et , 1/4 Mi. right out of the factory(HotRod Mag. 1969) Back then you could order any engine in anything along with a 4 spd and a 4:56 rearend if ya wanted it In Camaro ya got a R/S SS pkg or a Z28 pkg but engine wise either could be had with whatever engine ya wanted, even a 6 cyl . auto with black carpet, orange seats, red pt. white headliner and green doorpanel if ya wanted a "5 Way" we called it.

The SS is probably a big block and the Z is a 302. Performance to the SS. The Z is more expensive to buy.

z28 was a true race package for the time. the ss was more of a "street package". all things being equal, the z would win every time
