If your mom is worried about all of the chemicals in tampons (dioxin, rayon, bleached cotton!) than you can ask her if it would be okay if you used 100% cotton organic tampons (like Natracare!) when you are doing cheerleading and gymnastics. I'm going through the same problems. Some mothers are afriad that tampons will take away your virginty, which is totally not true. Also, sometimes it gets stuck...in there. Of course you can get it out, but your mom's just probably afraid (her fear doesn't make much sense but it's probably the reason.)

Nothing is so bad about tampons. As far as I am concerned it is a personal hygiene choice, if you have enough money to buy them, do so.... What is she going to do about it? How would she even know? Just be sure and read all of the included information the box. ( BTW it has NOTHING to do with virginity if that is your mother's problem ) Did she give you a reason?

Well she might not let you wear them b/c it's more of an older woman thing i think b/c moms are afraid that you will no longer be a virgin try talking to her and asking her if you can wear them if she says no try to convince her
