I got really organised in July, and bought quite a lot of things at the sales. But since then I've been totally slack about it, and now have to join the hordes of shoppers to finalised the shopping. Tonight I wrote out all my cards - this is a major job for me, since most of the people I send to are friends from times past, who also live far away, so Christmas is the time for long letters and photographs to be sent. So , just having done all that I feel like a big job has been successfully completed. I'm happy !

No not even half yet. But there's hope. There's two plus weeks
left. Hubby has to find more ways to get some extra cash in
first. Otherwise we'll be giving baked goods again. Or candy.
One is a good start. Now make a list and start going at it.
Or give food. Everyone likes food. Get some baskets and
fill them with cheese, fancy crackers, sausage, and it doesn't
have to come from a Hickory Farms kiosk. The grocery store
will have good food, and cheaper. Throw in some fancy
cookies and some little Xmas mints or ribbon candy and
wrap it in clear plastic colored for Christmas. Tie it with a
pretty bow and you're all set. Food is the best gift for those
who have everything. And they can even save it for use on
New Years' Eve.

Nah- I'm like Homer Simpson. I run down to the stores on Christmas Eve- there's never a crowd then either.
I have a list all prepared ahead of time at least. I just put shopping off because I hate the rude crowds.

No, and it´s making me so anxious I just can´t find the strength to get off the computer and hit the stores. Tomorrow morning I´ll head for the mall, I swear, list in hand and credit card in purse.
This is the part of Christmas I don´t like. When the shopping is done I begin to feel merry and enjoy the season.

I have not bought a single present. I like waiting until December 24th, and then wrestling with everyone else that waited until the last moment. Nothing like going for that last remaining item on the store shelf as 50 other people try to snag the item also...

My wife has bought so many presents in the last 2 weeks, that our bank account is almost empty.
but I am sure that as soon as the next check comes in, she will be back at to mall, for just a few more things.

Whoa! You mean I am supposed to BUY Christmas presents? All these years, I thought I was suppose to GET Christmas presents...no wonder I have no friends! Hmmmmm. Oh well, I don't need any more ties, and no one ever gave me a car, so .... it is no big deal. Goldwing

I normally wait until the 23rd or even the 24th and go late at night so theres not such a crowd and it's alot easier to decide what to get because there's less to choose from.

Well, I am doing better than YOU at any rate...I have got my gift for my youngest daughter's boyfriend, and one gift for my youngest daughter.
I haven't been able to get out for the past couple of weeks, because of this ongoing trouble with my gall bladder. And I sure do hope it clears up soon, because I really DO NEED to get out to buy presents for my oldest daughter and my grandsons.
