Mean girls?

Question

Why do 'mean girls' continue to exist in schools? We've all seen films like mean girls, never been kissed, shes all that etc. We all know these girls are evil cows treating everyone terribly in schools, so why are there still girls that insist on worshipping them? Why don't they on mass abandon these girls? Are/were you one of these girls? (If you were you'd probably never admit it to yourself). Which girl were/are you in school and what would you change? xx

It's true, all those barbies from school end up pregnant and working full time in local Maccy D's still behaving the same way and never relising how much easier life would be if they just stopped the s***, but still I wonder if I saw them now, if I'd run and hide or think HA! Look at ya now! xx

That kind of aloof cool cruelty can be very attractive if you're not the victim - often 'followers' do so in order NOT to become the victim.
It's a dangerous herding instinct, and bodes ill for democracy and human rights.
I say we should stand up to this -and all- types of bullying, but it involves risk, and not everybody canbe/is brave enough.

This is an interesting issue. It seems to me the advanced language skills acquired by girls relative to boys is nearly always used against other girls - it is a form of competition that is encouraged in girly activities (dressing up/acting/fashion etc) that are all ultimately designed to perfect the 'art' of attracting a mate. All girls are therefore seen as competitors - even when they are not. The mean girl is just faster at reaching this point and generally gets herself 'mated' very early. However, it does not end up with her getting mated with the 'best' mate - hence she'll often end up with the boys who are good for nothings.

yeah i know its a shame and the same with boys too,and for every one that grows up and goes to jail,there is always another one to take their place,and has to proove that they are nastier than the last one,and if they diddnt have the pack of followers giggling at everything they do,they could not exist,but that wont stop either,cos these kids are afraid,i can tell you now i have had more than my fair share of these bullies all my life,but i never give in to them,i fought every day at school with them,i took some good hidings along the way,but they all knew that if they started with me i would not back down,but i have grown up and i can say without a shadow of a doubt i realy hate bullies,and the misery they cause for the children who arent in their click.!! GRRRRRRRRR!!!

Its just easier to act like that for those people, also they don't have the self analysis to watch a movie like that and think about their own actions and realise they act the same. They just think "what a *****!" and then carry on in exctly the same way. Thats why you can't talk to/reason with people like that, because they don't think about things enough to feel bad or understand where you are coming from. Its a total lack of empathy and self awareness.

They are mean because they are having a bad time so they decide to make someone else have a bad time. They also think its fun to pick on people. I think everyone has made fun of someone before and I think its normal.

Ex: eww look at her shoes..

I am a nice girl and I dont like drama, I like to treat you how you treat me. I would of changed who I went out with in school

depends. life is what you make it.. is the short version..

instead of worrying about others, better to get on with your own life..

and no I wasn't one of them girls (I'm the wrong gender.lol) , although have seen the sort you mean over the years..

lets face it some women are very catty, that's how they are.. nothing will change them.. blunt , but it's the truth.

I believe it's just basic insecurity at the end of the day.

Well I myself am in 10th grade and I float in and out of social circles. I've got friends in pretty much all the social cliques, and I guess I've been told i'm next-doorsy. hah. But yeah, I don't know why people worship them. My one friend who is in the 'prep' crowd, said that all they talk about is shoes and clothes and appearance. I think that when other people look at them they see what they think is a pretty faced person who has tons of 'friends'. I also know this other girl who used to be quite popular last year, and i guess she still is but none of her popular friends are really her friends and they all call her a sl*t behind her back as well as all their other friends. that's the problem with girls like that. They have friends, but they backstab eachother out of insecurity. Idk. hah. Just my view on it.

I actually found Mean Girls to be soooo true. Like, Hollywood makes it seem like they tried to blow cliques and preps and stuff out of proportion; like they thought stuff like that didn't actually happen in real life...but it does! hahh. I love it.

If you call them 'evil cows', 'barbies' and say they all get pregnant it is hardly surprising they do not react well to you. None of us can change others...we can decide how we respond!!

well i left school 8 years ago but i was always one of the ones they labelled as geeky. but i think girls now have gone worse they can be so bitchy and act older then there years if i was in school now id tell them exactly what i think of them
