I've lived, here in Vegas for over 10 years. The Strip is fine. As they said before, beware of pickpockets. As far as the "drunk" part, on the strip, well, that is true and not true. You can walk down the sidewalk with a drink in your hand, it's perfectly legal. Just don't get "blasted" unless you are with friends. Have a great time, don't be paranoid. I don't go to the Srip often because I've seen it, done that. But yes, you should be ok. Have a good time.

Safe for who?

Hundreds of people walk along The Strip at a time. You're not likely to get robbed or assaulted, but there are plenty of pickpockets.

That said, it's no more dangerous than anywhere else in Las Vegas.

It is absolutely safe on the main part of the strip. Thousands of tourists, well lit, and well-policed.

I can't say about pickpockets. I've never had anyone try it on me in Vegas. I have had a number of attempts made while I was in Paris, Rome, Florence, St Petersberg and Moscow. I'm of the opinion that pickpockets are more prevalent in major European tourist cities than Vegas.

Is it safe to go anywhere these days. Honestly, you have to be careful where ever you go. Vegas, your mall, anywhere.

Yes it is safe, unless your drunk and stumble into traffic. The strip area where all the casino are is fine, once you no longer are by the casino, you may have walked too far. Stay near all the glamor and glitz and you will be fine.

It's well-lit and there are throngs of tourists at all times.
Beware of pick-pockets and purse snatchers.
Do not go too far down the strip at night(you'll notice where it changes and becomes a bit seedy and somewhat devoid of tourists).
Keep an eye on young children. Abductions can occur anywhere... the strip is certainly no exception.

Pick pockets are the biggest threat on the strip. They work in groups so they hide their crime easier but the police work hard to catch them. That is the main thing to worry about. Wear a fanny pack and keep your valuables in there. No purses. Wear the fanny pack in the front of you not the rear. Carry wallets in front pocket or better a fanny pack.

Yes, it's safe.... 4 Vegas rules, don't J-walk, don't walk around outside drunk, stay in a group, don't piss off the locals; and you'll be fine.

Yes, millions do it every year. In the almost 40 years I have lived here the people hurt were from crazy drivers or rappers and their gangster buddies.
