Of course some can - and others can't. Some might need a little help with invitro-fertilisation treatment. Everybody is different, and there is a big difference between the age of 40 and 49. So the answer to your question depends on a host of variables.

My mother was 43 when she had her youngest, her mother, my grandmother, was 41 when she had her youngest, and my dad's mother, my other granbdmother, was 44 when she had her youngest. Yes, women in their 40s can have children.

yes, and in their 50s sometimes as well. my boyfriend's aunt got her tubes untied when she was 54 and had another baby. he is a healthy 10 year old.
