Become a stripper. Save the $ you make and get your GED and take some classes on the side. Just do not get hooked in to the whole "Stripper Lifestyle" because when all is said and done and you haven't managed you your time and money wisely all you'll end up being is a washed up stripper with no job experience and no high school diploma. Also I believe the jobcorp will help you out if you are under 25,if the whole stripper thing isn't for you.

go back and get your diploma, or at least a GED, because with out one of those you have very little as in next to none, of any good occupation, by that i mean earning of at least $500. per week. the Military, does not even want you as cannon fodder or bullet catcher, and there is a foolish war going on.
now you got to eat, sleep and so forth, so the best you might hope for is to start out part time in fast food as that seems to be better than the "day labor sweatshops ' that people with drug/alcohol, or felony criminal records must use.
Consider this if you can convince 2 different fast food places to hire you at 24 hours a week at $7.00,you will gross $336. per week, and work a couple of really long and hard days each week and have some days to go back to school, or you work almost every day and still can go back to school, and YOU had better do something right now cause your market value drops every year, or sooner.
Now if you go to school get the GED, or better a Diploma, you are far more job worthy, and could get promoted at one of the first jobs to say $9.50 per hour and work 36 hours, which is better than where you started and where you are NOW.
you could quite honestly then start a small side line business, washing windows in down town and commercial small strip malls would surprise you as you need few tools, soap, bucket, squeegee and an invoice book, if you charge $12.00 to clean the store front windows and you do 5 per hour that is is $60.00 gross per hour work it 3 days at 4 hours per, even when you go to you regular job, you have created $720.00, per week from a small part time job, or $1800.00 per month, so what if you can only do it 6 months a year, that still over 10 thousand dollars you would not have. Here is a little secret " Work Beats Proverty" and you owe to yourself that much respect.
do not be like the nonthinking whiney *** losers who what the government to think and do for them, those are slaves in the making.

There is definately a limit on what you can achieve without a diploma, but I am also not a preacher and I am not gonna tell you school is the only answer, I recommend that you seek a job where you can perhaps start at the bottom, maybe mailroom, or something to that extent and work your way up.
Otherwise, maybe look into some GED classes, your oppoutunities open up better with some form of accomplished learning.

In the San Francisco bay area there is a program called OICW and also called Job Train Works. They work with poor and inexperienced folks and give them basic training on how the work world ticks. Some folks don't realize for example the importance of showing up every day on time. And others have to learn to look visitors in the eye and say "Good morning, can I help you?". And others don't know how to dress appropriately. Then beyond that there are technical skills to be learned - like working with a PC. Anyhow - I think this would be a great place to start.

Student. Get any shitty job, supplement it with some trading - selling stuff you find in the garbage at flea markets (people live off that!) and stuff like that, take night courses for a GED, then take some courses at the community college for some certificate in something... with less than a year at school (plus a year for the GED) you can get a certificate in some random thing that pays well and then make enough money to not be so poor... from there you can concentrate on what you wanna do, like taking courses for a degree in something that actually interests you.

Well your best bet is to go to a program where you can get your GED.I don't know what are you are but here in Oh we have the Adult Basic Literacy Education program/ABLE,it's free and you have no time limit you can go to morning or evening classes and obtain your GED for FREE!You should look in a phone book and get this. Then you could get a great job or go to college and get a career.I wish you luck also the only jobs you can really get without a diploma are fast food/restaurant and sometimes retail, you just have to apply though, you never know.Good luck:)

Waiting tables or other jobs in restaurants, retail sales, child care, pet care, lot attendant at a car dealership or car wash, think of jobs that high school students get before they graduate. The goal should certainly be though, at some point, to get that GED so the person can move up the ladder/pay scale a bit... and qualify for training that might be available to improve their job skills.

Costco I've heard pays far more than Federal Minimum wage and I believe offers benefits etc.

Have you thought about getting your GED? That would open up more doors for you. Places like banks, the US Post Office or other government agencies can provide life long work with benefits. You may not become a millionaire but you will have a career as opposed to just a job.

Figure out what you think that you might like to do. Then see if any employers in your area would be willing to train you. You would be surprised how many employers are willing to do this if you are a good, consistent and timely employee. Don't think that just because you don't have a diploma you shouldn't have a decent job. If you are doing something you enjoy, it makes it much easier to learn and stick with it. There are no bad jobs. All gainful employment is good.

A lot of school systems hire substitute teachers with no experience, but a very clean record. If you have children, this will be ideal, since you would work the hours they are in school. Check with your local school board. (The other plus to this is that if you have to be home with a sick child, it doesn't affect your job.)

Another thing is real estate. You may have to enroll in a class, but you won't need a diploma.
