First off, Ohio State did not have an easy schedule. That's just lame excuse, and if you find a schedule ranking, I guarantee theirs is no worse than 50th in the nation.

Ohio State was tied for the second best record in college football. That should automatically put them above every team with 2 losses. I don't care if they were to tough teams or triple overtime, if you lose twice, you don't deserve to be #1, period.

So the only teams that should ever be considered for #1 are Hawaii, Ohio State, and Missouri. Missouri lost their conference so they're out, and Hawaii's schedule was SO bad (somewhere south of 100th in the country) they don't really deserve it either.

LSU is certainly subjective, and I think they've benefited from being in the top 3 of every poll in the pre-season. If they had started at #10 or lower, Oklahoma would be playing in the BCS Championship, and it would be well deserved. If you were trying to put the best of the 2 loss teams into that game, the most deserving is probably USC over the rest as well. So although their place is justifiable, LSU is certainly a less solid choice that Ohio State.

I would go with False. Not so much because of any teams that are any more deserving, as much as it is that it appears that the final outcome was manipulated by the voters.

Case in point #1: Georgia DROPS one spot without playing a game even though 2 teams ahead of them LOST. The only way LSU could have gotten in is if Georgia gets voted lower than people normally would have voted them, which is precisely what happened.

Case in point#2: Virginia Tech is rated 2 spots ahead of LSU the week prior in the coaches poll. Even though they beat a higher ranked team than LSU did, they beat that team ON the road (compared to a neutral site), and beat that team more convincingly, LSU moves past Virginia Tech.

I have no problem with a team that does so well that their improvement in votes helps them along if it's just based on that. But, when voters downgrade their votes for other teams to make sure the 'right team' gets in, then that proves the problem more than anything.

Every team schedules weak out of conference games LSU and Ohio ST included. And both did in fact win their conference.. even though the Big10 doesnt have a conference championship game Ohio St. did win the conference outright.

Well out of the top 10 LSU did have the hardest winning out of conference schedule.

Did they choose the most deserving teams (lol) I doubt that will ever happen in the BCS era.

Did they choose the right teams based on the system in place, yes I think they did. The system is in DIRE need of a playoff though.

FALSE -- Hawaii is UNBEATEN!!!

You try to schedule for them -- see how many teams want to do home-and-home series with Hawaii. SEC, Big 10, Big 12, whatever -- nobody wants to travel that far. It's not a matter of scheduling cupcakes (see K-State, USC, etc.), it's a matter of NOBODY will come down.

AND in the WAC, anybody can beat anybody else ALL the time -- it's always been that way -- so to go undefeated there is MUCH more of a deal than all the NCAA football armchair geniuses make it out to be. Don't give me that "strength of schedule" BS. Unbeaten is unbeaten.

They're never the right teams. Every single year. No matter what two teams you pick for the NC, people are going to whine and complain about them, from things such as "OSU had a weak scheduel" to "Hawaii is undefeated" people are going to complain about the system.

That being said, they did the best job they believed they could.

False. This was a crazy year with all the upsets. OSU didn't have a tough schedule this year, but neither does USC every year.
