I pump for my son... then bottle feed...

Your milk color may change depending on your diet...
If it's thin, that's normal. that's the milk that helps satisfy thirst in babies. After you've been pumpin for a bit, the milk with more fat will then follow. If you've noticed when you store your milk, how it will get real thick at the top of the bottle? That's the hind milk....That satifys hunger.

Yes, that is normal. People think that your colostrum is gone around day 3-4 and then you have mature milk -that's just not true. Milk gradually changes from yellow/orange colostrum to blue/white mature milk around 4-6 weeks.

When unpasteurized milk separates the fat AND some of the milk solids can separate leaving something very watery. This is why if you are pumping into one container, then storing in another, and possibly even serving it in a third you have to be very careful to get all the fat and milk solids clinging to the containers to transfer.

It's supposed to look like that. Dont worry I had tons of questions as a first time mom also, especially when it came to breastfeeding. Good job making that decision, you will have one happy and super healthy baby! Good luck!

Yep, it's normal. Doesn't it almost look blue from being so white. I breastfed for 15 months w/ my 1st and can't wait to do it again.
