What kind of pickup do you have? i was working on a 1995 chevy 6.5TD, and i broke a wire that goes from the alternator to a circuit box, and apparently that wire would "excite" the alternator, making it charge. and it wouldnt charge but maybe 11-10V when it was broken

When the Truck Engine is Running, open the Hood, Do you Hear the Alternator Making Noise or Can you Feel it Vibrating or Overly Hot? Check Regulator Wire and Ground Wire at Alternator!are Alternator Mounts Loose? is Belt Tension, Not To Loose or Tight??

It's very possible some connector to the alternator was not re-connected, or not reconnected properly. There's only a few.

Either Take it back in to them!, or if you're willing, pop the hood and look around the alternator. Typically there are 2 connections from the wiring harness to the alternator. Make sure the connectors are snug.

the belt could be slipping, and or the plug is not plugged back in in the back of it ,or its a bad ground these all can affect it to cause this problem.
