I'm not impressed with him only because he's already a great goaltender, you kind of expect him to put up great numbers. I'm more impressed with the Rangers as a team buying into the defense first system. Being a Flyers fan, I get to see alot of the Rangers and I think they are solid and have a great chance at making a run for the Cup this year. Someone a few comments up said Lundqvist is underrated, which is not true at all. He is widely regarding as a Top 10 goaltender if not Top 5. If you want to talk underrated I would lean more towards guys like Tim Thomas or Mike Smith( who IMO is playing better than Turco). But anyway, Lundqvist is solid.

I myself am impressed, this is fully what i expected out of him after seeing him step in and play his first games a couple years back. He has shown the true potential to be top 3 goalie in the league, and this season and post all-star break last season he has done just that. Giguere did it last year with a blue line that many goalies would salivate over. This year the Rangers have a very young and talented blue line(Staal in his first year, Girardi in his 2nd), and no matter how talented they are the inexperience will cause them problems every once and again. With a D corps where Roszival is the acting vetern leader, Lundqvist is truly the glue that keeps the back end together and is doing exactly what I thought he would.

Impressed, yes, very much so but not as impressed as I have been with Osgood, Leclaire and to a lesser extent Thomas. As good as he he been, he probably wouldn't even be a Vezina finalist if the voting were today. Dating back to the midway point of last season, he has been stellar.
I am beginning to think that I may have ranked Kiprusoff a little too highly and maybe he is just a guy who had a couple of good years, that said, he always starts slow but we are close to the 30 game mark now. His post all-star game #'s are usually amazing though so I will give him time.

Chris............who underrates him?
He's been a Vezina finalist two years in a row. He's been on the front page of every magazine that deals with hockey. Every expert speaks tons about him. He's the leading vote getter for goialies for the all-star game.
Many people would consider that to be over-rated. At least he is backing it up with his play.

I am not impressed by his stats, but definitely impressed by him leading his hockey team to victories. He is the best player on the Rangers. His best stat is how clutch he is when they need him the most.
