This year the US Mint released the first coins of the Presidential Dollars series. Four presidents will be honored each year, going forward. The only qualification I'm aware of for a president to be included is that they are not living (for at least two years prior to release of their coin... Strange!)

Sacagawea is not a president. She helped Lewis & Clark explore the West.

Susan B. Anthony is not a president either. She was an activist for women's rights and against slavery.

Every 3 months a different president is put on the dollar coin. So far, the coins of George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison have been released. By 2016, Gerald Ford's coin will be released. I think they're waiting for Jimmy Carter, the 2 George Bushes, and Bill Clinton is die before their coins are made.

Along with the presidential coins, the first ladies will have their own coins.

On the Gold Dollar coin it is Sacagawea. Who helped lewis and CLark in their surveying of the Louisianan Purchase.

Before that was Susan B. Anthony on what is know as the Carter Quarter. She was a champion of womens suffrage.

And Thomas Jefferson on the Old Big Silver Dollars

Currently the mint has just started releasing new presidential dollar coins where they will be releasing 4 new coins each year with all the president in order of service.

Next year will be the next 4 presidents.

So you have Washington, Adams, Jefferson an Madison

George Washington was on the dollar coins, because he is on the $1.00 bill.
Don't remember who was on the half-dollar coin they are hard to find because the mint quit making them and I think Jefferson was on the $2.00 bill.
