The norm is 2 weeks.
However, if your company has let people go with less notice than that, that shows that company does not even deserve that.
On the other hand, if you really like the people you work with and want to leave on good terms (and leave yourself an opportunity to go back) sit down and discuss a transition plan with your supervisor.
This is what I did at my last job. They asked me to stay for three weeks while I sat in on the interviews and trained my replacement. Even though I don't think I'll ever go back, they really appreciated me for making the transition easier.

2 weeks is standard and a minimum. If you work for a smaller company or are the only person that does your particular job, they may request longer. You should give whatever notice you need to (within reason) so as to leave on good terms. Somewhere between 2 and 4 should be adequate.

>> constantly placing me down for no longer doing issues their way . . . each boss you have for something of your lifestyles will want it finished his/her way, till you have adequate adventure to make a resounding case on your way. If somebody else is doing issues their way, the 1st time, they are going to love him/her greater clever. Favoritism is whilst 2 human beings do the comparable element the comparable way yet one receives complimented or a greater clever shift because of the fact she is prettier or he's a nephew or something like that. person-friendly courtesy demands you provide them 2 week's word. in case you point out them on a resume, use a independent reason for quitting, like "commit greater time to my learn". when you graduate from college with a BS in Civil Engineering, your resume would have a line "dissimilar after-college jobs", which would be all you want say approximately it.
