I been getting bad responses from some people on my last question in the R&S section. I posted it here just a little bit ago, and last time I just checked no one answered my question.

I'm bisexual, so I'm not being mean when I ask this. I only want to know what people think.

It really depends on who's using it. If some straight drives by and shouts "queer" at someone just walking, minding their own, then it's bad. But, i know gay people who use it to make it hurt less when it's thrown at them. It's the gay version of the n-word. Also, people were trying to get "queer" to replace LGBT, but it just eneded up getting absorbed into LGBTQAI

I don't mind the word queer at all. I also use it the way it is in the dictionary, though... I think I just like the way it sounds.

If you read the dictionary it says that it is "disparaging and offensive" slang, but I also know a lot of people that prefer to use queer. I think it just depends on who you talk to.

I think if people get offended by it being used in a completely innocent manner then they are being a little ridiculous.

Queer nor any other word is 'bad', they are just words. The only thing wrong with any word is the content in which it is used and the intention of the person using it. Words of themselves are neutral, neither good nor bad. Queer, as a word, just means unusual as in "This is surely some queer weather today."

I just did, 'queer' is not as bad a word as some others, but some don't like it.

Not to me it's not... I mean it's not the nicest of words to be called, but there are far worse... I would never refer to myself as queer, but some gay guys do. *shrugs*
