I'm guessing then that you have no choice in what you sing and that you must sing the song from the show that they ask you to sing? I'm hoping that the music is available for you to have ahead of time to practice with... If your parents will allow you to, go to limewire, itunes, Amazon, or any site they'll allow you to download music from and get that song (hopefully in the original key)

Main page for the show:

Audition info for each character including sheet music:

Pure Imagination is under Willy Wonka.

good luck!

that song is quite high but if you want you can ask them to change the range of the song and make it a little lower but most of all don't freak out that's when problems happen. So just keep calm and you'll be fine I'm sure of it. Good Luck!

I don't understand why your director is asking you to audition for a high soprano part when you sing alto? Did you sign up for this role before you knew what it was about? I would ask the director or musical director if you can sing something in your range rather than attempt to sing a song that clearly isn't right for you. It's better to speak up for yourself and ask rather than ristk leaving them with a bad impression of you.
