The U.S. entered World War I because:
1. The U.S. had relatively close alliances with Great Britain and France. These countries were strong trading partners and had strong cultural bonds.
2. The Kaiser was not as much the villain as Hitler but he was widely hated and seen as a threat to civilization. Invading Belgium added to his reputation.
3. Germany did not respect the neutrality of American vessels with the sinking of the Lusitania being a crowning blow.
4. Germany had angered the U.S. by involvement in Latin America. Germany was not as active as Spain in the Western Hemisphere but had tried to influence Mexico.
5. It was supposed to be the "War to End All Wars". Some American hoped that after War that a lasting peace was possible.
6. Numerous Americans had enlisted in the Allied cause. More combat pilots were in the French and British Air Forces than in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Sinking Of The Lusitania had Americans on board. Oil. Saw it was to advantage. Made alot of money. Bloody mindeness like everyone else in it. Greed.
