sure, you just have to install the preamp in the control cavity and make sure you have room for the battery ( or batteries, some active systems are 18 volt ) but active systems are a bit pricey, probably costing you more than the guitar did. upgrading to some hot passive p/u's would be a lot cheaper and less hassle
