No chance of that here in Australia. But anyway, how would I know it was a "lucky penny"? Aren't all found pennies lucky?

Well, I am always in a quandry about what to do when I see a penny on the ground. The saying goes, "Find a penny, pick it up, all that day you'll have good luck"

But I have also heard that if the coin is face down it is bad luck to pick it up.

So, what I usually do is check to see if it's face up. If it is then I pick it up... and have good luck the rest of the day!!! lol

Every penny found is a lucky penny. I pick it up and put it in my pocket.

I only pick it up if it's heads up. My mom says it's bad luck NOT to pick one up, whether it's heads or tails up.
So now I just run around confused, and if I find a penny tails up, I ball up into the fetal position and rock until the short bus comes and hauls me away in a straight jacket. How can you dis your mom?

You pick it up...a penny saved is a penny earned son.

I was told a couple of different things "Find a penny, pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck" I was told you must also give the penny to a friend for this to work.
But my Gramma told me when i was a kid to put it in my left shoe in order to get luck.
So try'em both and GOOD LUCK

i leave the change for the kiddies, they get more of a kick out of finding money on the ground plus they are closer to it.
