I'm going to assume it will bounce back into space, simply due to the speed in which it moves

Heh, this is an interesting question. Well, taking the average speed of a falling asteroid or meteor, which is about 40km/s, it really wouldn't matter what it's made of, cause at that speed, it's mass increases exponentially. That's like firing a rubber bullet out of a 50 caliber sniper into a brick wall, it would still blow a hole right through it. So, it would have near the same effect as an asteroid made of iron or rock.

It'd prolly hit us real hard and bounce back to space. I don't think asteroids like that exist though...

how big is it?

how fast is it moving into us?

F=MA you know?

what is it made out of?

it could bounce if it touched us slow enough

it might not squash anyone if its small enough.

if you ment REALLY big, heavy, fast, and bouncy then yes. It might even "squish" MORE people than if it where an astroid made of rock / metal.

It doesn't matter what an asteriod is made of.
If it has enough mass and enough momentum when it hits the Earth, it will vaporize itself and the surface (or ocean) where it hits and will likely destroy all life on Earth (from the dust ejected into the air, and from the firestorm, earthquakes, and tidal waves it will create).

Only if it is made of "flubber", no other material will do. But while it does that, it will beat the Harlem Globe Trotters in basket ball.
