Go to your control panel, then choose Add or Remove Programs, then choose Add/Remove Windows Components/ scroll down until you find Internet Explorer and then uncheck the box beside it, then click the next button and you will never have to worry about that crappy browser ever again. Hope i helped!!

Well, the problem with making internet explorer not work, is that you will never be able to run windows update again, so...
But if you really want to go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and delete all the files there.

YES ! BUT, DON'T TRY TO UNINSTALL / DELETE IT. Instead the proper way is to uninstall it under control panel;
> control panel
> add / remove programs
> ( in the side bar ) add / remove windows components
> ( you may have to have the op. sys. CD to do it )

1. open firefox
2. Click on "tools" --> options
3. On the "Main" tab, you will see at the bottom "Always check to see if firefox is the default browser on startup" at the bottom of the window
4. Check that box and click on "check now"
5. Say "Yes" when it asks to set it as default browser.
Thats all.

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. In the Left hand pane add/remove windows components. Untick IE. When you need it back just reverse the process.
