I had an abortion at 10 weeks when I was 18 ( 5 years ago)
I was back at work 2 days later, you may bleed for a few weeks but your not in any pain. you cant have sex for 4 weeks, as you could cause an awful infection and it could lead to you never having children again. and do not use tampons to catch the bleeding, use pads. They will tell you all of this when you go in.
I would book it in ASAP, the longer you wait the harder its going to be.
your going to get a lot of rude remarks on here for this question, but just remember this is your choice, and Im sure you have your reasons, just as I did.
good luck

and ashley b is insane, you will have an IV inserted into your arm, and they will put a drug in it. This drug will make you go into an unconcious state ( you will be awake but wont realize it) you wont remember any of the procedure. and you will not see the baby at all. and the drug also stops the babies heart beat at that time.
they also do not use saline anymore.
please learn your facts before answering.

If this is really what you want to you should contact Planned Parenthood or another family planning clinic in your area. How long you'll have to wait for an appointment depends on how busy they are, and not just with abortion appointments since a lot of clinics offer a wide range of services. Baring any complications you'll probably be back to work or school within a day or 2. At least in terms of the physical recovery.

But again, only if you're sure this is what you want. You don't get to change your mind later.

I'm sorry. Some people are too rude and inconsiderate to think of your feelings.
Anyways, just call your local Planned Parenthood. They'll talk you through the procedure and let you know what all of your options are. They're very kind and understanding there. They'll help you with anything that you might need.

As far as recovering, it could take between one to six weeks. It's kind of hard to predict.. different people recover differently.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at mcn8428@yahoo.com.
I went through the procedure recently and I'll inform you of anything you'd like.

Just remember, it's your decision and your's alone.

Like many others have said, Planned Parenthood is your best option. They'll do everything you need at the clinic, including the procedure and are completely confidential. They're very understanding of your rights, wishes, and feelings. No judging! Here is there website so that you can find a location near you:

Good luck and stay strong!

I'm going to answer your question flat out, no judging: Find your local Planned Parenthood, or research abortion options in your area... it can take some time considering the high number of abortions that are being performed. The recovery time varies, but it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. It all depends on how far along you are when you actually have the abortion.

Before actually going through with it, perhaps you should weigh all of your options, and talk with your parents, the father of the child, or someone who you respect to get their point of view. Best of luck to you!!

EDIT - Please don't let the people who are anti-abortion scare you! Everyone reacts differently to abortions... all of that talk about depression and it sticking with you for life are scare tactics. Some people go through that, but others don't. Not everyone understands why some people have abortions and they will automatically assume you were careless/reckless with sex and condemn you. Just make sure that you are absolutely positively certain it's what you want to do. Most places will counsel you before you go through with it and make sure you understand what you are about to do.

Trust me you will never forgive yourself...especially if you have kids later in life. It will be on your mind everytime you see a adoption commercial or anything. You also would have a high risk of life long depression, knowing that you killed a child. I would look into adoption hard, people even pay for you to have a child that they would want. My husband is adopted and I would have never known him if his 16 year old dad and 19 year old mom would have chosen adoption. Watch people with their children or look at a baby section in a walmart...you have to make sure that you wouldn't regret this when you are a at "grandparent" age, would you want grandchildren or if the child was given up for adoption would you want to know that child before you died or know that child lived a life, knowing you made the right decision.

This really isn't the place to ask about abortion because you will be judged and if you think this is such a horrible and sensitive question, don't you think you should go to someone you can trust like a family member or a doctor to talk to. Abortion can cause depression and there are complications that you should discuss with someone qualified to answer your questions..a friend of mine had an abortion in her 2nd year in high school and she still hasn't got over it =/
