What is a current issue in the world at the moment?

I need to write a report on a current issue but im stuck for ideas and the search results are WAY to complecated for me :)

I think violence (which could tie into the war in Iraq) or drug/substance abuse would be an easy topic, mainly because those are really broad topics. If you have to narrow it down some you could always do violence or drugs in schools. I hope that helps you out, if you need more help feel free to ask =]

you can write about the current decline of our dollar vs. other currency around the world. You can discuss the fact that out exports have greatly increased since US made products are now less expensive to foreign countries. However, the downside is that the decline of the US dollar usually indicates a decline in economic superiority internationally. Furthermore, international travel will cost so much more to the average American since our dollar will yield much less when converting to foreign currency(the Euro for example).

Also, another interesting topic is the myspace case where some adults pretended to be a guy that liked a teenage girl, then suddenly ended the online "relationship" to intentionally hurt the girl's feelings. Well, the girl ended up committing suicide, and the adults who pretended to be a teenage boy are not being brought under charges, because there is no law that governs this type of behavior. Here's a link to this story. It's an interesting case, and it should lead to online reform, at least, I hope it does.
