Ours is at night too. I think they hold it then because a lot of people are out of work by then and the lights really look pretty in the darkness. We also have a Santa Claus and sleigh that travels up and down the streets on the nights before Christmas. They stop and take pictures with the kids that come out to watch. I really like this tradition. I took my children out to see Santa and then the grandchildren. Now I get to take out the great grandchildren. Same house too. It's a good feeling.

There's a small town just south of me, about 6 miles that is mainly a small farming community, population around 3000.
The always have a "fair and parade" during a Saturday, day, from 9:00am until 4:00pm, one week before Christmas.
It's oodles of fun! Want to come?

Ours is at night, it's called the Christmas Parade of Lights though so that's probably the reason...

yes, we have a daytime parade around the first weekend of December. There is a santa, and a couple of crazy floats and some advertisers doing their best to look festive
Did you see Perfect Storm? Remember that crazy seaside town (Gloucester Mass) - thats where I live. We do everything a little wacko here.

Yes it has a santa claus parade downtown. It has a whole bunch of floats and has a whole bunch of people dressed up as santa. How do little kids know if santa is real? There is so many of them!!!
