Typically how long do most people prepare for it?? Lately I've been trying to plan out my life (like what classes I will be taking) for the next 2 years and I plan on getting my BA at the end of Spring 09. So I will need to take my MCATs no later then Fall 08 so I can apply for med-schools. But because I'm a little behind I will still need to take the 2nd half of ochem in Summer 08 and will probably be left with only a month to prepare for the MCATs. I figure I won't really need to review the Ochem parts of the MCATs too much because it will still be fresh. I'm really only worried about the physics and general bio sections.

Sooooo, will one month be enough time to prep??? Should I probably start preparing right now to make up for the lack of time I will have later?

- Thank You!!!!

One month? OH HELL NO!

I accelerated my masters degree just so that I could spend what would've been by 4th semester in MCAT prep. I started in January and took the exam in April. I devoted ALL my time to MCAT prep. I did well. Got a 32. But it doesn't come easy.

It's not just enough to know the material, you actually have to get used to answering those exam questions. It's computer based now, but you'd have to get used to clicking through your answers without getting mentally fatigued nor succumbing to eye strain.

It's okay to have a gap year as long as you spend that time wisely. Spend a few months prepping for the exam. Do a lot of community service or volunteer work. Get a health-related job. You can spend the time between your BA/BS and your application beefing up your med school qualifications. You can also spend more time on preparing your personal statement and looking at loan packages.

Whatever you do, do NOT rush you app.

Hmmmmm.......12 hours ago you were an A student. If you are an average student, good luck on scoring higher than about a 22.

Depends, if you spend one day per wk than that's not enough, however, if you spend at least 30 minutes for 30 days than yes, it's fine.
