No, a lot of couples participate in open relationships.
It is only cheating when someone in the relationship is being deceived.
Set the ground rules for the relationship, and if you both follow them, then everything will be okay.
Have Fun!!!

No not cheating! Out in the open. I think every married person has come across a few people that they absolutely wanted to be intimate with but quailed those desires because their significant other would be hurt. Open types embrace those times and allow the other to experience those desires and pleasures unselfishly. It shouldn't be an all the time sex freak-scapades type thing; deep down inside every person, at one time or another, would like a few "get out of the dog house free" cards. As long as both can be unselfish enough it could work and bring sexual enhancement to a strong life-long marriage.

No - my partner and i have an open relationship. Neither of us feels jealousy if the other person sleeps with someone else, in fact its a turn on as we openly discuss it with each other later on. Much better than furtively sneaking about behind your partners back - its very liberating to feel so free with someone.

No. But I call it asking for trouble. Though, there is some documentation out there that "swingers" have no worse divorce rate than non "swingers".
My grandmothers parents did it. Screwed up the whole family. They switched marriage partners too ... She told me it was hard and weird.
The biggest negative I would have about it, is if there are children. Divorce is really difficult on children. And I can see it even now, that both he and I are remarried. They are nervous when ever we argue.

No cheating is done when the other spouse has no knowledge of it and you are doing it behind their backs. If you have consent it is called an open relationship or swingers.

If they both agree to it then how could it be cheating? It may be wrong morally but if thats what they want to do to keep their marriage going then who are we to tell them they can't?
