It's generational. I'm in my 50's, and when it was the lion king, Aladdin, Hercules, Pocahontas and newer, I longed for the good old Disney movies of Snow White, Song of the South, Cinderella, Fantasia, the Love Bug, all the Anette Funicello/Bobby Darin moves, Swiss Family Robinson etc. I am sure in 15 to 20 years, they will be longing for the classics that are new today.
For TV, instead of Hannah Montana, we had the original Mickey Mouse Club (Kurt Russull was, maybe, 6 or 8) and Davey Crocket.

Well, older generations also thought of The Mickey Mouse Club (Which had virtually no Mickey), Davy Crockett and Zorro when they thought of Disney. It doesn't take away from the films, which tend to be geared to a younger audience than the TV shows. Ask a pre-tween about Disney and I'm sure you'll hear them talk about films or characters (Many of whom are used in Playhouse Disney, also on the Disney Channel).

Disney used to have some great movies narrated by Rex Allen (country music, original rudolph the red nose rain deer).
These and the original cartoons (lion king, alladin are newer to me), these are what I remember about Disney.
Walt Disney would probably turn over in his grave if he new what his enterprise has became.....My mother has the family pictures of the family at Disney Land within the first couple years it opened. I love looking at those old black and white pictures....

I know what you mean but Enchanted is one of the Disney movies that is going to be classic since the story is classic, like in Cinderella, Snow White. it almost seems like its trying to pull kids back into seeing their greatest movies and remember those better.

I sgree that Disney have lost their magic and rely on Pixar to do all the hard work and joy. And they really do on a regular basis, all of their movies are brilliant!!
But Enchanted just came out and it is very good, holds true to the old Disney values and makes you feel good. Really has a classic Disney feel to it. Go see it remind yourself that Disney can still make some magic.

and Im sure that people older than us said the exact same thing about "the lion king" or "aladdin"..'oh its crazy when you ask a kid about disney the first thing they think of lion king or hercules..'
those maybe "classics" to you, but Im betting they're hardly "classics" to everyone else who remembers snow white or sleeping beauty.

I completely agree. Remember all the wonderful cartoons? But now Pixar makes my favorite "cartoons". Honestly, my husband and I watch them WITHOUT the kids! :>)
