I usually step on them if I bother to kill them at all. I don't see a lot of roaches, so I don't have to worry about them.
I chose this method because it is the easiest at hand most of the time.

Roach Motels work best. The Roach enters the motel. Taking it's deadly food to the main body of the herd/nest. Where the rest eat it (including the queen) and that pretty much wipes out the colony.

well to stomp them is the typical method but ii hate that method because you have to swipe up the remains plus i'm a tad bit afraid of roaches so i prefer distant attacks that allow the ceature to be dead and intact because i also hate to kill insects. i kinda prefer spraying for these reasons

I have the best automatic system in the world for killing roaches that make the mistake of entering into my house: My cats first play with them, knocking them across the wooden floors til they stop moving, then pick them up in their mouths and deposit each one in the toilet bowl. I am still trying to teach them how to flush the toilet, but its difficult because they don't have any thumbs.

I haven't seen a roach since Mexico. They sell a chalk made of boric acid that worked great! Boric acid isn't toxic to humans, but it sure knocked them roaches dead on the spot!!

get someone else to do it - shoe, tissue, spray, whatever it takes! Nothing- and I mean nothing- is more effective than getting a pest exterminator to come in and get to the source of the problem first. Then there'll only be one or two random ones that come in. We MUST win the fight!! Good luck!

Water...Empty jars fill with water stand the jars next to the wall so they can climb and get in the jar once they get in they can`t get out they drown.
They breath through their skin so if you get a spray bottle and fill it with water spay the cockroach it will absorb the water and drown so disguard it straight away as it may revive it`s self. .

I have used roach motels in the past. The roaches 'check in but they don't check out'.
