ok...i got a laptop yesterday, how do i connect the internet to it?
i have the little comcast box (i used it for the omputer)
i want it WIRELESS...plz help

most of the laptops today now have a built-in wireless card so all you need is a modem/router that has wireless capability. the comcast box that you mentioned, is that a modem that you use for high-speed internet like DSL or Broadband? if so, you may want to check if it has built-in wireless and ask how to configure it. if not, buy a router with wireless capability and set it by asking your ISP technical support. configurations may vary depending on the ISP and the hardware you're using.

You'll need a wireless router and you can pick one up and any store like Best Best for less than $100. Think of it as a splitter for your cable Internet signal. It is a transmitter/receiver that send the Internet signal to your laptop.
As others have correctly noted, setting up a wireless router can be a royal pain in the neck for newbies. If you don't have a friend that can set this up for you, hire someone that can.

you need to buy a wireless router.
then you need to connect the wireless router to the modem with an ethernet cable. then connect a computer to the router with another ethernet using a web browser log into the router and enable wireless in the wireless section.

Buy a wireless router, and PLEASE, have a friend that knows what they're doing perform this for you.
