Tie Blankets? What kind of knots does one use to make these?

A single, regular knot? A double knot? Or some other type?
How does it stay if it's single? Just make it really tight??

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Double knot. If you know macrame you could use some fancy knots.

my mom made one double knot so it wouldnt fall apart
