If a tech wasn't looking for a pregnancy on transvaginal ultrasound and the pregnancy was 7-8 weeks along, is there any way she could miss it? And if it were 8 weeks from the last time I had sex, how far along would that make me? 8 weeks or 10 weeks. Do you count from lmp or last time you had intercourse?

The tech was looking for an older pregnancy. Not an 8 week pregancy. If she were looking for one at all though could she still miss the 8 week preg?

I have taken a pee test and blood test and they were both negative. They were taken the day before ultrasound.

You count from your lmp and then you would subtract two weeks to know the fetal age. Since there is no way to know when you conceived, doctors go by LMP.

I am not sure, but I would think it would be difficult to miss a pregnant fetus during an ultrasound if you were 8 weeks. I was 10 weeks when I have my first ultrasound and there was no missing it!

You count from lmp (the doc won't ask you when you last had sex that would be impertinent!) I would be surprised if a pregnancy was overlooked. That kind of ultrasound is supposed to show maximum detail. Did the tech appear competent? or slightly unsure? If you are that late and think you could be pregnant have you done any tests at home? If you get a positive then it was missed. You obviously had that scan for another reason, could that be why you appear to have missed a period? I do hope this works out the way you wish it to. Good luck.

I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks--it seems to me that it would be pretty hard to miss it, although I guess it could be possible. You could clearly see a baby with a little beating heart and a full gestational sac and thats about normal for an 8 week scan. If it has been 8 weeks since you had sex, you would be 10 weeks pregnant (the doctors say you are 2 weeks pregnant when you conceive) but your fetal age would be 8 weeks.

A tech can't miss the sac because it would have been much larger than normal and at 8 weeks she would have been able to see the baby (looks like a peanut). You would be 10 weeks along because you count from the 1st day of your last period so the baby would actually be bigger. I would be shocked if you were pregnant. Sorry!

you count from your last period not the last time you had sex and if you got a ultrsound a ultrsound tech couldnt miss the baby if its there why do you think youre pregnant?i know that its possible to have a tubal pregancy but they have test they do for that also if an ultrsound tech does an ultra sound and cant tell weather or not theres a baby then something is terribly wrong so i would say you are not pregnant

the tech would not miss the pregnancy, I had an ultrasound at 4 weeks and you could see the heartbeat. any tech worth there job would see the baby.

and you count from the start of your last period, I'm not sure why but thats what doctors do

You count from the first day of your last period, it doesn't matter when you had sex. As far as a tech missing a pregnancy, did the know they were looking for one? I have no idea on that question.

You count from your LMP, and sorry, the tech knows what he/she is looking for, and will not miss a 10 week old fetus.

You count from your lmp. My baby showed up on a vaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks and I could see the heart beating.

first of all, lacking one tablet won't reason you to get pregnant... your physique needs to have like 2 to 3 days without the tablet to realize it.... that's why in case you permit out one, its no longer a situation to make it up day after immediately. besides, in case you have been 8-12 weeks pregnant, no longer purely might you experience it, even regardless of the undeniable fact that it would be impossible to omit on an ultrasound, fairly a transvaginal.
