the 9ers traded their #1 this year for the pats' #1 last year which turned out to be joe staley for the 9ers. if only we could turn back time....

The 49ers traded up in last season's draft to get Joe Staley.
The Patriots had a pick taken away by Goodell for the Spygate scandal, but it's their original pick. That means they'll lose the 32nd pick in the draft, but will still get to keep what should be a top-5 pick.

There was a trade during the last draft that got us that pick. Good for usnow we will be even better because the 49ers are in the lottery.
