a friend of mine didnt know she was pregnant until she was nearly 5 months. shes a very skinny person and usually when you are really skinny and very active its not uncommon to miss your period. so a missed period was no big deal to her. she never suffered any morning sickness or fatigue, at least not any more than her normal day to day happenings. (she worked around chicken houses so she always felt sick!!) She has a very long torso which made it to where she didnt show until she was over 7 months. (the baby is able to grow up instead of out)
after she finally figured out something was up she took a test! then she was in denial!!

Well, how can someone that has been pregnant before twice be six months pregnant and not know.
That was me. I was in the ER in December of 03 for a broken wrist and wasn't pregnant. In July I went into the ER with what I thought was apendicitis and found out I was 24wks 2dys pregnant.
How could that happen. I had none of the usual pregnancy symptoms. I had not breast tenderness, I had only gained 3lbs since my ER visit in Dec, I had no expansion of the belly and had not felt the baby move. I had my menstrual cycle every month although it had been lighter the last few months and I had changed birth control pills so I thought it was the different birth control pills that resulted in the shorter and lighter periods.
So it happens more often that we know, where someone is pregnant and not know it till later in the pregnancy. I was going on my last three months of pregnancy when I found out and had to go on a major shopping spree to get things for the new addition to the family.

I've heard of it happening when a woman has extremely off beat periods or when she's been on (like a girl I know) the shot and it didn't work.... (she found out a five months)
A lot of times women are lucky enough not to get morning sickness and all that, and when they're tired from it, they may think it's from work or something else.
Must be nice, though, to not know until then. Cuts the pregnancy time in half.
With both of mine I found out soon... two weeks after with my first and six days after with my second... man does it make the last month DRAG!!!!!

RE:
How can a woman be 4 months pregnant and not know?
One of my friends didn't know she was pregnant until she was 4 1/2 months. Now one of my co-workers had the same thing happen to her. How does that happen? Wouldn't you notice SOMETHING changing with your body or energy levels or something?
Has this happened to anyone else?

It's an assumption that when you're pregnant you have morning sickness, and a plethora of other symptoms. It's not necessarily true. My ONLY symptom was fatigue, but it would have never made me think I was pregnant. I just felt low on energy. I took a HPT on a whim, but still never thought that I was pregnant. Some women don't feel kicking until around 24 weeks. Some women maintain a period during their pregnancies, or already have irregular periods.

This book is a must read for any woman trying to get pregnant. I was devastated and so was my husband after being told by my fertility specialist at age 38 that I had no option but to consider adoption or donor eggs (according to my doctor I was out of eggs and gave me 4% chance of getting pregnant and a 2% chance of carrying a baby to full term). After much research and dozens of hours reading infertility related articles and posts online, I have found this book! I never believed in anything alternative to western medicine and thought all the other stuff like Chinese medicine was a hoax. But I was soon glad to be wrong as I followed step by step guidelines. After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy. Nine months after that I did everything in the book again and after 2 months of trying I got pregnant again and gave birth to another perfect little boy. I would recommend anyone with an open mind to read this book. It just might be the answer to your prayers.

Then you have those who really don't pay there bodys to much attention so they would know until the last min.

No, not all women have morning sicknness, headaches, cramping etc that me and most other womean have. One of my co-workers had two "normal" pregnancies--finding out very early and then her last baby, she didn't know until she was 6 months. My sister in law didn't know until she was 3 months pregnant with both of her daughters. Some women feel nothing when they are pregnant or brush off their symptoms as something else.

I know someone who had a late in life baby. She was in her late 40's when she became pregnant. They assumed she was in menopause and that's why she had no period so they never tested. She got to 6 months before they found out! She had no real symptoms and those that she did have, were also ones that are common in menopause!
