Normally a snake will only travel 10-15ft from its cage they useally just find the closest warm dark spot and curl up and hide. And it depends on how long ago you fed it as to how long it can hide out. You will have to check everything big enough to hide your snake, evrything! If you dont find it right away, there are a couple of things you can try. 1) get a box make a hole in it just big enough for your snake to squeeze through, it needs to be a tight fit, place a dead mouse or rat whatever your feeding it, inside the box and close the box so the only way in or out is through the hole you made, place it on the floor, in a dark spot by it cage, hopefully it will smell the prey item go into the box and eat it, then , if the hole is the right size it wont be able to get back out without regurging the item. You will have to change out the prey item every day or it will really stink. If that doesnt work then keep an eye where it can get to water at night. I've had them get out and be gone for a few months just to turn up in the bathroom or around the dogs water dish. Good luck!

I used to have a ball python and they like warm, tight places. So check anywhere like that. If you can't get to it, then buy a mouse and put it under a glass or something that the snake can see the heat from the mouse. It should come out. Good luck!

Snakes, especially little ones, tend to dehydrate quickly when they are loose in the house, and will therefore seek out a moist hiding place. That is why escaped snakes are often recovered from bathrooms or piles of laundry.
Set a few damp towels in strategic locations along walls. If the snake encounters one, it is likely to stay put for a while.
Baiting it with food, or with a heat lamp, will probably not work.
I also recommend that you buy an actual snake cage. Many dealers are on kingsnake.com.
Aquariums with removable tops aren't escape proof.

that happened to my friend two months ago and we just found him last night!
he was found in the bathroom.
check behind/under warm places in your home. ex: dishwasher, dryer, refrigerator, etc. they like hiding out in warm spots.
another thing you could do would be to place a fresh, full bowl of water in it's cage, and leave an opening so that he may re-enter the cage. this way you would easily spot him if he were to come in for it's water. it will get thirsty eventually. also, if you have any type of heating pad or lamp for it's cage, turn it on so that it may also be drawn to that warmth.
hope this helps.
good luck!

It will be pretty difficult to catch the snake because snakes like small, tight, warm places. Like someone else said, check beneath your sink, dishwasher, laundry room etc. The best way is to make the area where his cage is warm, so he will be drawn to it. Also, put out fresh water and fresh food. Also, stick a mouse in his cage..he shoudl be there in 2.2 seconds :) good luck!!!!

Set up the heat lamp in the middle of the room with some of the bedding material from it's container.
Drop the heat in the house. If it's still in the house, it will find the heat source.

Just put a naked baby on the floor. Eventually he'll get hungry and come out. Good luck!
