If you went to the gym before you were pregnant you can pretty much maintain the same workout schedule you had previously. Obviously, don't overdo it, drink plenty of water, stop when you're tired, and don't lift heavy weights. If you are just starting going to the gym you should take it really easy only doing very light cardio and taking a lot of breaks. Check with your doctor if you have more concerns.

Walking is probably your best option. Don't ride the bikes or anything like that (they say it's bad for your cervix). I would also think that some light weight training would be helpful. In the early stages you are good doing all the easy stuff at the gym but as you get farther and farther along, you'll need to rule some stuff out. I would recommend signing up specifically for a pregnancy class. It could be pre-natal yoga, which would be easy on you. Now is actually a great time to start exercising because it puts your post-pregnancy body in a better position to shed pounds later. You also assist the labor and delivery by building strength in your body.

Avoid activities that increase your risk of falls or injury, such as contact sports or vigorous sports. Even mild injuries to the "tummy" area can be serious when you're pregnant. After the first 3 months of pregnancy, it's best to avoid exercising while lying on your back, since the weight of the baby may interfere with blood circulation. Also avoid long periods of standing.
When the weather is hot, exercise in the early morning or late evening to help you avoid getting overheated. If you're exercising indoors, make sure the room has enough ventilation. Consider using a fan to help keep yourself cool. Drink plenty of fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty.
Make sure that you're eating a well-balanced diet. Normally, pregnancy increases your food requirements by 300 calories a day, even without exercise.
You should try swimming, yoga or pilates. Low impact aerobics are great as well.
Good luck! :)

YES! It's what you do when you get there... Stick to activities like walking, light jogging for cardio and light weight training. Nothing too strenuous after a while - basically do what you feel comfortable doing. A friend of mine told me her sister ran (yes, ran) up until her 8th month. Now, that is not something I would do because I hate running in the first place!
Exercising is way healthier than not exercising. Think about the workout you're going to have once the baby gets here - I'd rather be in shape for that, wouldn't you? :)

It's ok as long as you don't over do it. Take it easy and also be sure to listen to your body. If you feel tired, stop. The further along you get, the less you will be able to do there. I would check with your doctor about exercises that are best for you.

i exercised pre-preg and still do until this day -37 weeks. But lately it's been mostly walking and light weights. You can still do your exercise as long as it's not too strenous and drink plenty of water. Swimming and yoga also best for pregnant women.

They say that you can go up until full term as long as you aren't doing anything overly strenious... and that if you feel tired or dizzy to stop... and to drink LOTS more water than you normally would.
Hats off to you... I have had zero energy this whole pregnancy to try to stay fit... I burn calories by chasing around my toddler but that's about it!
Congrats on your pregnancy!

You can still continue, but you need to talk with a trainer about modified exercises as you are pregnant. Abdominal crunches are definately out.

anything you are used to doing is safe to do unless:
- it becomes uncomfortable (specifically later on you want to avoid doing exercises on your back)
- it carries a risk of injury, esp abdominal trauma
- your doctor has told you otherwise (usually you'd be high risk if they told you that)
stay hydrated, don't over do it, and you should be fine!
