Before one could learn to accept oneself one must find out why you have this attitude ..then one would know what one is dealing with and effect an effective answer.without knowledge of "why" it is shooting in the dark ...

This may stem from guilt,.. derived from events that happened a long time ago...or perhaps from a repeated suggestion that you are a failure or are weak, being bullied maybe .... there could be many reasons for this..
maybe the effects of many causes

Realize that you already do! There is no learning involved; if anything, it is a matter of unlearning the lies that you have been told and have thus internalized and tell yourself that you are somehow not good enough as you are.

If you think about it: right now, right here, you can only be what you are. This is a tautology. You are what you are.

I accept that it is good to want to better ourselves. However to get from A to B, one must first accept that one is at the place A. I say "one must" but circling back to my first statement, one already does!

So smile, relax, work with reality and not against it!

Why would you want to?

That is a negative attitude.

We are put on this Earth to learn, grow and develop as a person, which requires change.

Too many people use the term "You have to accept what you are," as an excuse not to get off their backsides and do something positive and constructive with their lives.

Yes you have to be honest with yourself and realise your limitations, but those limitations are only there until you learn, grow and develop a bit more and then you will overcome them.

I would impart the wisdom of the Buddah to you... realize that everything in existance is connected on a very basic level. Science can and has proved this to be true. You are an extension of this force and you have a purpose in this life whether you know it or not, few people ever figure out their purpose until the moment it is realized and the ones who have foresight are to be pitied. You were created the way you are right now because the purpose you were created for demanded it. Meditation in a quite room is a great aid to realizing that you are indeed made for a purpose. Repeat " Om Mani Padme Hum" slowly while taking even breaths and you will get closer to the quite place where reality can be realized. Enlightenment follow you my friend.
