There's no special age. It's just when you feel you want to. Be warned that it hurts...a lot...and once you start you have to let them finish. If it's not bathing suit season and no one is going to see your crotch, I wouldn't bother for a while...

Waxing is not something you have to do nor is shaving or trimming. Women do it because they and/or their man likes it. If you want is professionally waxed they may not do anyone under 18. If you do it yourself, just do it when you're ready to.

I been shaving "down there" since I was 16. It feels cleaner. However, I am afraid of getting it waxed. OUCH!

never....seriously, the hair "down there" is there for a reason.
shave or wax it and you open yourself to all sorts of health issues. Just trim it with scissors to keep it neat, but for heaven's sake don't wax or shave.
