Pretty? Ugly?
BTW, I'm not pregnant and or looking to name my baby Desirée. It's just a little survey that I'm conducting. A few of my friend's have this name and they hate it. I was just wondering how you all feel about it...

I cannot stand the name Desiree. It sounds very low class or stripperish to me.

Adding a French twist to the obvious word "desire" has always seemed the epitome of "adult entertainment stage name" in my mind. I'm perfectly familiar with the name's history, origin, usage, etc., but it's not an association I could easily shake, I'm afraid. Just far too overtly "sexy" for a child OR adult, to be honest.

Cara amiga... o nome acompanha a pessoa por toda a eternidade e portanto deve conter tudo que se quer para ela. O nome que vc apresenta significa desejo ardente de realizar algo, muito sugestivo sexualmente, carece porém de firmeza de propósito, ficando apenas na esfera do desejar. Sugiro que pesquise mais, use se possível comparações na numerologia, nome é coisa séria e não deve ser escolhido apenas pela grafia bonita ou pela fonia agradável e sim pelo significado e pela força que pode imprimir ao seu portador.

I like the name but find it odd that someone in the US without any French background would give a daughter such a very French name. Lovely name however.

I love it!!! I think it is a very pretty and elegant name for a girl. I know a Desiree that is a child and she is just gorgeous and the name suits her well. I would not mind having that name if it was mine. Plus its cute to be called Dessy for short.

I love that name! In fact, if I was to have a second daughter even though I have no kids yet, then I would probably name her Desiree.

Its a beautiful name, though in my pass i have met someone that goes by that name and she wasn't very benevolent. And that change my likes on that name. But you know, one person can't determine the definition of a name.
I think its beautiful and it means "desire."
