(3/8+2/3i)-(1/4-1/3i) = 1/8-1i ??

Yep

Just add the real and imaginary parts individually, making sure that you handle the sign properly, which you did.

It would be 1/8 + i... I don't know if your teacher is dumb like mine but she won't let us put the one in front of our integers and imaginary numbers.
