I saw it. I had been listening to the scuttling, snuffling noises for a while. I shivered against the biting wind penetrating beneath my fur coat. Deep within the shadows of the furthest corners of the barn I could hear it moving, destroying, gorging itself.
Quivering to the very ends of my body I slowly approached, noiselessly, hardly bearing any weight on each foot for fear of alerting it to my presence.
I froze as the scuffling noise stopped abruptly. Did it know I was coming? Had it heard my breathless approach.
Inching forward as the activity began again, I tried to envisage where it would be. Could I feel the vibration of its feet scratching the straw-strewn floor of the barn?
We were united in shock and fear as a violent gust of wind bashed the door back against the wooden face of the barn.
Creeping ever nearer, I could make out movement. A little nearer, nearer. It hadn't smelt me, heard me, seen me.
Time was rushing past me, it was now or never, I pounced forward with one huge lithe bound.
The mouse let out one final squeak of surprise before falling limp between my jaws.
Tail high with satisfied pride, I padded to the farmhouse to leave my trophy. In return there would be creamy, warm milk in the morning.

The shadow moved thru the door way and when i looked....... It was only my husband coming in out of the storm.Whew, I thought something terribly was after me and the cat.

I heard a scratching noise at my door. An eerie wailing cry made a shiver run up my spine. Should I look out and see what is there? Horror movie monsters with metal claws, cloaked figures like misty vapors of evil pressing against my door...I heard a whisper of choking despair. I picked up my heavy flashlight and prepared to look out and bash anything that tried to creep inside my home. With a slither and clip I opened the chain lock, then carefully cracked open the door. My flashlight dropped from nerveless fingers and my knees gave way. There was a bloody body before my door.I scurried back from the sight on my doorstep, fighting down a wave of nausea. I tried to slam the door, but I was paralyzed by the sight before me.....a cat was licking the bloodied fingers of a body splayed before my door, stopping periodically to wail an eerie, freakish cry of conquest or bloodlust.

I groped for my flashlight, choking back my own bile as I pushed the cat from the helpless figure before me. Who could it be and why was it here at my door? As I shooed the cat away its moan turned to a hiss of anger and it scurried off to disappear into the blackness. My heart was pounding so hard my head hurt and I swallowed desperately as I looked over the bloodied figure to find a pulse. My heart sank as I pressed two fingers against the womans's throat. It felt colder than the night that pressed around us, darker than a moment before. I pushed her hair back searching her features to see who had crawled to my door for help that would come too late. My shivering deepened to horror as I recognized the woman I had met, just two days before in the Ridgley Genetics Laboratory. Why was Jeannie Rollins here, what had she wanted from me and who had crushed her skull to stop her? These questions would take on life and death urgency for me in the days to come...

he just stared at me!i screamed"GRUMPYBEAR!!I THOUGHT I THREW YOU AWAY!" grumpybear's eyes turned bloodshot red.in a robotic moan,he said"i thought we were friends morgan(me),now i'll have to kill you"I screamed and grabbed a knife.HE HAD A DAGGER.We Fought A LIttle,Then HE Pinned my shirt to the table ."GOODBYE,MORGAN" He said.when he was jsut about to stab me,i stabbed his heart with the dagger.wHILE HE WAS DYING,I CALLED MY sT.bERNARD TO COME PLAY WITH him as a toy.
