Microsofts seem desesperated. Th eother day they say they are outselling PS3 2-1. Still, they dont have any sales figures because such figures have not been revealed so far.

Wii is winning the war, and ps3's sales have increased over 200%. PS3 has sold 5.6 million ps3 in its first year, xbox 360 sold about the same.

However, from 2005-2006, Microsoft was the only next gen console in the market and they sold the same amount as sony did with 2 more next gen consoles competing. Also, the other day I checked something out that a blogger said "Xbox 360 has a 33% failure rate, and some people decide to buy an elite instead of fixing their broken 360 premium."

This means that xbox 360 may have sold a lot of consoles to the same old customers. Wii is doubtless the best seller. And remember, PS2 sold only 1.7 million it first year, and it became the best selling console in the last 7 years.

PS3 is outselling wii and 360 in japan. That was not projected by analysts.

Why will xbox 360 get on 3rd? International market sometimes dont care about online gaming. I used to use video game in my country, DR, people there are not such of online gamers, but they buy a lot of consoles.

GTA IV is said to have exclusive content online, what about those who do not use online service?
On the other hand, ps3 offer extra content included in the bue ray disc.

What do you think? Will xbox stay 3th? Or maybe 4th behind ps2?

I think that the Xbox 360 will eventually fall behind Sony. And like you said in some international countries, they don't care about online gaming, and that's how I feel. I could care less if a game has online play. I only care about the campaign mode and the main story. If a game doesn't have a good story, then it's not worth buying in my opinion.

The PS1 and PS2 both sold over 100 million consoles each and the PS2 sold over 100 million consoles in just under 6 years. The PS3 is headed for the same route.

The PS3 and the Wii has more support in Japan, and that's what will give Sony the edge. The Xbox 360 hasn't even sold a million consoles in Japan yet, but the PS3 has sold over 1 million consoles in Japan and it costs more. The first Xbox didn't even sell over 500,000 consoles in Japan. Japanese consumers are going to support their companies and it's that simple.

The Xbox 360 hardware problems is another big problem. Sony is going to win this war again. History repeats itself and just like the PS1 and PS2 dominated, the PS3 will do the same. It's just only a matter of time. And if Sony cuts the price again on the 40GB PS3 next year, it's over for Microsoft for sure. And Sony will cut the price on it sometime, but no one knows when.

By looking at the PS1 and PS2's console sales, it's easy to see that there's more Playstation gamers worldwide than Xbox gamers. The first Xbox sold about 25 million consoles. And both the PS1 and PS2 sold over 4 times that amount.

You seem to be pretty set on supporting the PS3, so why ask really? Personally, I was a PS2 fangirl, and I just can't bring myself to like the PS3. Right now it has too few games I like and and really, I don't see anything coming for it that I wouldn't be able to get on the 360. I can't say "It will get better, more games will come, it'll be number one" and hope my money ends up being worth it. I don't care about online play or Blu-ray for that matter. If they had the games, I'd be all for it.

Right now, it's just a lot of Sony and Microsoft fans throwing grains of salt at each other.
