Has anyone stopped to think maybe he "can't" run between the tackles because the Saints' offensive line sucks? It's also pretty tough to rack up yards OR wear out the defense when you only get 13 carries a game. I don't think it's so much the PLAYER as it is the SYSTEM. Put Bush in Minnesota and he's a 1,500 yard rusher.

He had 1,300 yards, 88 receptions, and 9 touchdowns as a rookie. How do you call that a bust?

In the few games Deuce McAllister played this year, he got 10 carries a game. He averaged 3.8 YPC. Reggie Bush averages 3.7.

seems like the rest are doing better, duece has had no problems, he was suppose to be a game breaker but all hes done is just fill a slot he may get better in time but who knows, its just another example the heisman winner that doesnt win it bc hes the best just the media favorite and turns out to be a medicore player in the pros hm!!!

if its the line how can Duece rack up those yards and Bush cannot. the line he has is pretty good. i believe they had one or two pro bowl players from that line last year.

with 13 carries i think Peterson had over 100 yards. but any running back with Minnesota's line can run for alot of carries. it's like the 90's line from the Dallas Cowboys.

but everyone knows when Bush is in at WR its a reverse or a screen so his element of surprise isn;t their like last year. thats mostly how he got all those yards last year.

I couldnt agree more, the guy is a raw talent. At first i thought it was just time he needed. I think the team is just having a bad year and needs to prepare for next season. Once they regroup and tweak the offense some more to bush's abilities then hell be fine. He's not a bust, its just people expect him to do what he did at SC and he can when the system is set up right. Perhaps S. Payton needs to talk to caroll and start using some of the student body right/left plays that worked at SC after he finds a healthy offensive line that will plow holes for him.

He didn't run up the middle in college either. If USC had a better OL....Oh wait Lendale White (and look how little he does now) did it just fine at USC.

Face it. If Bush started putting up good numbers he would get more carries. With Duece gone he should be putting up better numbers because he isn't sharing duties with someone else who also put put pretty good numbers as someone else pointed out.

great players manage to do great things even in the midst of mediocre teams.... reggie bush has done nothing noteworthy in the nfl other than being a dissapointment.... adrian peterson has more rushing yards than reggie bush has had in his entire career..... Reggie Bush is as big a dissapointment as George W Bush

He notched most of his rookie stats in the second half of the season and has not built on that momentum. He was supposed to be a game-breaker....and all he has proven to be is a decent hoagie salesman.

Barry Sanders had the worst of the worst of offensive lines his WHOLE CAREER in Detroit , and he seemed to be able to go down as one of the best ever. I don't think Bush will ever be mentioned in the same sentence.
