I have never been to a shower were kids *were* included, unless they were children of the guest of honor. It's not a kids event, it's an adult event. You're not obligated to provide entertainment or a babysitter for children. Why can't they stay home with their fathers?

A baby shower isn't usually a kids free event as far as I'm concerned.

How about hiring a babysitter (or a few) and giving everyone the option of leaving their kids home or with the sitter?

Once i went to a baby shower an at the invitaion they put Please no kids... It was something nice with glass and everything neat..
Then I went to another where they had a room where they had 3 persons incharged of the kids and they entertian them with coloring and other fun stuff so they will not get bored and they were attended...But is not being mean it is just the way you want to thow your baby shower... HAVE FUN!!

I think it's a smart idea, especially under the circumstances. I would probably do the same thing but just be prepared that this may keep some people from coming.

Good luck! :)

just in your invitation make it sound formal and let them know its for the adults. if you make it sound formal they should understand. and no your not being mean i know exactly what you are talking about!

it is understandble, I would be doing that so if it wasn't for that fact that my sisters have so many kids and would be able to come without them. But it is not rude.
